Some of the questions we’re often asked …
It does depend on what’s required and the estimated time to complete the design or plan. We will come back to you with a breakdown of the costs after our initial meeting (for which there is no charge).
The actual build cost depends on the works you require and the materials chosen. During the early stages of the design, we discuss budgets and work through some potential costs so that you’re aware of the cost implications of choices you make. This enables us to adjust the design to keep it in line with what you want to spend.
Landscaping costs can be higher than standard internal building costs due to the complexity of building structures which have to be able withstand the elements and everything that Mother Nature throws at them!
A rough guide is £45 per square metre to be planted. This includes the supply and planting of a typical mix of shrubs and herbaceous plants. The figure is liable to increase, however, if you want a higher proportion of mature specimens.
As with the build works, we discuss guideline costs with you in the early stages, so that you’re aware of the cost implications of choices you make. This enables us to adjust the plan to keep it in line with what you want to spend.
No. If all you want from us is the design so that you can use your chosen landscapers, that’s fine. We can provide you with a full specification for build and finishes.
If, however, you want to use our recommended landscapers, you can be assured that they are skilled professionals: they’ve been carefully vetted and have many years of experience.
We introduce the landscapers (and other professionals such as lighting experts) and project manage the work they do for you, but they work directly for you – they’re not contracted by Globe Gardens.
Yes, we source from a range of specialist trade nurseries throughout the UK and Europe to ensure that you get the best available stock. And then we (happily!) plant up all the plants, shrubs and trees.
With every Globe Gardens planting plan, you get ongoing support by way of monthly instructions on what you need to do to care for each species I’ve planted in your garden. These are emailed to you.
If, however, you’d prefer to have us come back to tend your plants, we can arrange an appropriate maintenance contract. We’ll then return at agreed intervals to care for your plants and help you keep your garden looking its best.
